Its important to drain the coolant to get rid of contaminants that may be inside the coolant. Today we are draining and filling the coolant in an Infiniti G35. So let’s get started, just follow the steps below to continue.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Always make sure the engine is cool before servicing the engine cooling system. Never service the engine cooling system when the engine is hot as you can get burn very badly.

  2. Step 2

Go ahead and open the radiator cap.

  3. Step 3

Remove the hose going to the radiator neck. There is a 10mm bolt holding the reservoir in place. Remove that bolt and remove the reservoir.

  4. Step 4

Drain the coolant in a drain pan. Wash out the reservoir to get rid of all the dirt inside it.

  5. Step 5

Next remove the coolant drain bolt and let the coolant drain out of the radiator.

  6. Step 6

There is a rubber seal on the drain bolt. Remove it and install a new one. Reinstall the drain bolt after the coolant has completely drained.

  7. Step 7

Mix a solution of distilled water and coolant to pour into the radiator.

  8. Step 8

Now reinstall the reservoir. Hook up back the hose to the radiator neck. Reinstall the 10mm bolt that holds the radiator in place.

  9. Step 9

Insert a funnel into the neck of the radiator and pour the solution of water and coolant into the radiator. When it gets to the fill mark, remove the funnel and reinstall the radiator cap. Pour the same solution into the reservoir until it reaches the full mark. That’s it, you’re done.
