The social networking site Facebook allows you to block unwanted contacts from certain individuals. If you block someone, he cannot find you in a search, see your profile or contact you through Facebook messages or friend requests. Facebook does not notify the individual that he has been blocked. Recent changes in the Facebook software has made managing your block list easier than ever before.

Instructions

    • 1

Log on to your Facebook page. Click "Account" in the upper right corner of the page.

    • 2

Select "Privacy Settings" from the drop-down menu.

    • 3

Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on "Manage Block Lists" in the Block Lists section.

    • 4

Input the name or email of an individual into the designated areas of the Block Users section and click "Block" to block someone. Select a name from the list of blocked individuals and click "Unblock" if you want to reverse the blocked status. You can also block app requests and prevent friends from sending event invitations in this section.

Tips & Warnings

  • Because your friends control the privacy settings on their profiles, it is possible the blocked individual may be able to see comments you make to a mutual friend's wall.
