It's easy to increase your metabolism naturally.
It's easy to increase your metabolism naturally.

Most of us who diet, exercise, and/or who are overweight, want to build a faster metabolism. Taking pills and supplements that claim to boost your metabolism is not the best way to achieve the results you want. Nutrition is the key way to boost your metabolism. Your metabolism is a natural bodily process, and can be regulated, and molded naturally as well.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • time
  • will power
  • patience
  1. Step 1
Exercise is one of the easiest ways to a faster metabolism.
Exercise is one of the easiest ways to a faster metabolism.

The most important, and obvious way to build a faster metabolism, is by exercising. Exercise of any kind wakes your body up in more ways than one. Increased exercise will help you to burn fat while you are exercising, but it will also increase your metabolism to help you stay trim while you aren't.

To get the best results, your exercise regimen should include BOTH cardio, and muscle-building routines.

  2. Step 2
    Stay away from saturated fats.

What, when, and how you eat plays a very important role in your metabolism also. Nutrition is one of the most important steps in building a great metabolism.

Most people think that fats and oils are bad for you, but not all fat is created equal. Stay away from saturated fats, like those found in vegetable oil, and almost all processed foods. Saturated fats are difficult for the body to break down, and require large amounts of energy to do so.

On the other hand, mono, and polyunsaturated fats are necessary for a healthy body. These "good fats" can be found in nuts, seeds, fish, and whole grains. These are easily broken down by the body, and promote healthy bodily tissues.

  3. Step 3
Break up your heavy meals into smaller, more frequent meals.

    Eat at regular intervals.
This is arguably the most important, and effective ways of building a faster metabolism. Eating smaller portions more often, increases your body's responsiveness to food.

Instead of eating three heavy meals a day, consider breaking up your eating habits into smaller portions five times a day. Doing this, you will consume the same amount of calories you would normally, but your body will adapt and be prepared for more frequent food intake.

  4. Step 4
Large amounts of sugar will do no good for your metabolism.
Large amounts of sugar will do no good for your metabolism.

    Stay away from sugar!
This may be a hard one for many of us who have a sweet tooth,(including me!). Sugar is one thing that you should definitely limit. Sugar inhibits the digestion of fat. Not only does it inhibit fat burning, but large amounts of sugar will also give you a boost of energy, and cause the dreaded "crash" a couple hours later.

Tips & Warnings
  • Try a morning jog before work...
  • Have a little less sugar with your coffee...
  • Eat smaller portions, more frequently during the day...
  • Saturated fats are B.A.D. bad...
  • Keep up on all of these steps, and you will have a faster metabolism in no time!
