find Cold Home Remedies

Most colds have no complications, but can cause miserable symptoms. When you have a cold, home remedies are a great way to get relief.

Things You'll Need:

  • Herbal Tea
  1. Step 1

Drink Hot Tea. Hot soothing tea soothes the pain of a sore scratchy throat, and helps to hydrate you. When you have a cold, home remedies, such as herbal teas, can really help.

  2. Step 2

Drink lots of other liquids, too! Cold home remedies, and all other cold remedies, are most effective when you are fully hydrated. Cold water, popsicles, and orange juice are all great sources of liquid.

  3. Step 3

Have some soup. Garlic is a great home remedy for a cold, and adding garlic to your soup will help your immune system fight off the cold germs. Basil is also an herb that works with other cold home remedies to improve your situation, and tastes great in chicken soup.

  4. Step 4

Rest. Your body needs plenty of rest and sleep so it can get better fast. One of the most important cold home remedies is simply going to bed and resting.

Tips & Warnings
  • Steam works well to open congested nasal passages. Setting your shower to hot, and sitting in the bathroom (not in the shower) will help cold congestion.
  • When in doubt, call your doctor! A simple cold will improve quickly- if you are not improving, or your symptoms seem severe, call your doctor to make sure you have a cold.
