I am a huge fan of peanut butter desserts, and this one takes the...uh...pie! Full of peanut butter flavor, it is one of the easiest pies I make, and it is always a crowd pleaser. This recipe can also be doubled for large summer get-togethers!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 pre-made Oreo graham cracker pie crust
  • 1 8 oz block cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup 2% or higher milk
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1 cup confectioners sugar
  • 8 oz tub whipped cream
  • electric mixer
  • chocolate syrup (optional)
  1. Step 1

Begin by making sure the cream cheese has softened. Add the milk, peanut butter, and confectioners sugar to the cream cheese in a medium sized mixing bowl.

  2. Step 2

Using an electric mixer, mix the above ingredients together. It will take a few minutes to really whip the cream cheese into the mixture, even if it is room temperature--be patient! The pie should be thick, but without hunks of cream cheese in the filling.

  3. Step 3

Scoop the mixed ingredients into the Oreo pie shell. The pie should be refrigerated for at least 2 hours before serving so it can set up properly.

  4. Step 4

Top the pie with whipped topping and drizzle with chocolate syrup, if desired. The whipped topping can be added at the end of Step 3 or just before serving, whatever your preference is. I add the chocolate syrup as I serve the pie so it drizzles over the plate and adds a nice overall effect.

Tips & Warnings
  • You MUST use only 2% or whole milk with this recipe. Milk products with less than 2% milk fat will not allow the pie to set up properly, leaving you with a runny mess of a pie. It tastes good, but does not look very nice!
  • If you like to try to make recipes lower in fat and calories, I have used reduced fat peanut butter, 1/3 less fat cream cheese, and light whipped topping with this recipe. None of these products have diminished the taste or consistency of this pie.
