Most places do not like to hire someone without any bartending experience. Gain your experience, while in school. On-line bartending schools may not be the best choice, I will tell you why?

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • bartending license
  • white tux shirt
  • black vest
  • black bowtie
  • black dress pants
  • comfortable black shoes
  • bartending kit
  • all, or, most of these items can be purchased at the school
  1. Step 1

Find a bartending school in your area.

  2. Step 2

When you call the school for information ask a few questions.
    1. Do they offer employment assistance
    2. Do they have their students bartend different events
    3. Do they have a business relationship with bars, hotels, night clubs, country clubs, etc.

  3. Step 3

If the answer is yes, enroll and start attending school.

  4. Step 4

    Apply for a bartenders' license

  5. Step 5

Start bartending events. This step is important. This is where you will gain your experience. This will be a great asset to your resume'. If you were asked to hire a bartender, wouldn't you prefer someone with experience?

  6. Step 6

Start looking for a job. Post resumes' on Monster.com, Career Builder, jobs.com, etc.
My first bartending job was at a temporary service. I bartended at various hotels, events, and private parties. Another way to gain experience and money is to advertise. That's right, advertise that you bartend private parties. Start advertising in Nuvo magazine, etc. This is a great side business, and can prove to be profitable.
