How to Delete the URL History of Internet Explorer

When temporary Internet files add up from Internet Explorer, it can put a burden on your computer, taking up too much space and altering performance. By deleting the URL history in Internet Explorer, you will clear up space. Deleting URL history can be done quickly with a few clicks of the mouse.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Open Windows Internet Explorer.

  2. Step 2

    Locate the "Tools" option on the menu at the top of the browser. If the tool menu is not visible, right-click the top of the browser (where your address bar is) and select "Menu."

  3. Step 3

    Click "Tools." A drop-down menu should appear.

  4. Step 4

    Select "Internet Options" from the drop-down menu. In the window that pops up, select the "General" tab.

  5. Step 5

    Choose "Delete" under "Browsing History." Choose which options you would like deleted. If you would like to delete all browsing history including passwords and form data, click "Delete All."

  6. Step 6

    Click "OK."
