1
Flip the bicycle over so it is sitting on its handlebars and seat. This makes it easier to take the wheel off.
-
2
Remove the nut holding the wheel in place. Take your wrench and turn the nut counter-clockwise. If the nut is too tight, you can loosen it up by placing the wrench on it and then hitting the wrench with a hammer. One firm hit should be enough to loosen it.

3
Remove any air that remains in the inner tube. If you look at the air valve of the inner tube, you will see something sticking up in the center that looks like a peg. Take a screwdriver and push this peg down to let the air out.
-
4
Remove the tire from the wheel. You may need to pry it out with a screwdriver, but be careful when doing it. Place the tip of screwdriver between the tire and the wheel and push down on the handle. With the screwdriver still between the tire and the wheel, slide it around the entire wheel to pry out the rest of the tire.

5
Pull the inner tube out of the tire and replace it with the new one. Put the tire back on the wheel, making sure to align the air valve with the small opening in the wheel. Inflate the inner tube to make sure there are no leaks.
-
6
Put the wheel back on the bicycle. Make sure to tighten the nut firmly.
