The creation of this beginner's bracelet will teach the basics of beading. As a beginner, you may want to start by purchasing cheap glass beads. After making this bracelet, you will be more confident and create another with beads that are more expensive.

Things You'll Need

  • (12) 6 mm various shaped glass beads of your choice
  • (29) 2 mm glass tube spacer beads
  • (3) 2 mm silver spacer beads
  • 10 inches of .05 mm elastic
  • Scissors
  • Binder clip

Instructions

      Beads and Tools.

      Separate your beads and tools so that you can easily put your bracelet together. You may want to purchase a bead tray to help you separate your beads and keep them organized.

      Use your scissors to cut off 10 inches of elastic. Slide onto the elastic 21 of the 2 mm beads. Slide 4 of the 6 mm beads on, alternating them with the 2 mm glass tube beads.

      Slide on 4 more 6-mm, alternating them with the silver 2 mm spacer beads for a total of 3 silver spacer beads. Slide on 4 more 6-mm glass beads, alternating with the remaining 4 of the 6 mm glass beads.

      Detach the binder clip; grasp both ends of the elastic and tie a square knot as tightly as you can. Pick up your nail clippers and trim off the excess elastic. Do not trim too close to the knot. Slide the knot through the last bead.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure the beads you purchase have a hole large enough to slide onto the .05 mm elastic.
