One way to really spice up your bedroom is to invest in wonderful satin sheets. They feel amazing against your skin at night and look fabulous. You can keep your silk sheets beautiful by handling and caring for them properly. Luxury sheets are very delicate and should be cleaned a proper way to prevent tearing and weakening the fabrics.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

To care properly for luxury beddings like satin or silk sheets, you must treat them like a luxury. This means no eating or drinking in the bed, no pets allowed, and no bleaching of any kind. After all, you pay big bucks for luxury bedding - take care of it.

  2. Step 2

Always hand wash your silk sheets. This is especially important because hand washing will keep the fabrics strong and kept together. Machine washers can sometimes be harsh on thinner fabrics. It's best to hand wash your luxury sheets in Luke-warm water with a gentle detergent.

  3. Step 3

After you're done hand washing your sheets, you should always hand-wring the water out. Please remember that wet satin can be very fragile and tear easily. The best way to wring out water is by wrapping your sheets in an absorbent towel and then hand-wring the water out of the sheets. NEVER use a machine dryer. The heat alone from machine dryers can ruin the fabric, not to mention that the satin could get caught and tear in the dryer.

  4. Step 4

After you have wrung out the excess water, it's best to let your sheets dry naturally. The best option is to choose a bright sunny day to hang them out on a clothes line. If this is not possible, try hanging them off a table and letting them dry naturally in your home.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can prolong washing your luxury sheets by avoiding tracking dirt into your bed at night.
  • Spray a gentle fabric fresh spray to keep your luxury bedding fresh.
  • NEVER use bleach or strong fabric detergents on your luxury sheets.
