Things You'll Need:
- mashed potatoes
- onion
- butter
- one pound elbow macaroni
- salt
- pepper

Step 1
My dad makes this dish all the time. This is a great way to use your leftover mashed potatoes. He said that he had this dish all the time when he was younger. These remind me of pierogies. You will need approximately four cups of mashed potatoes for this dish. I normally make this the day after we had mashed potatoes and gravy. You can just make potatoes for this recipe. But we do this to save time and money. Which is very important at this day and age. You will need a large skillet.

Step 2
In your skillet you will need to add one onion thinly sliced. You will also add one and a half sticks of butter. You will cook until the butter is melted and the onions are no longer hard. You will cook these until they are translucent. In another pot you will boil your macaroni until they are el dente. You will then drain them and place them in a large bowl. In the skillet where you are melting your butter and cooking your onions you will add your mashed potatoes. You will stir the potatoes into the butter mixture until completely mixed.

Step 3
You will continuing stirring this until the potatoes are heated throughout. Once you have the potatoes heated you will mix them in with your noodles. Then you will add salt and pepper to taste. This is a simple recipe with few ingredients but a lot of taste. Hope that you enjoy this recipe as much as we do.
