Learn how to keep teeth clean with some basic steps. Brushing teeth three times a day is a good start. Use toothbrush that is suitable for your gums.

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    The best way to keep your teeth cleaned is brush them regularly with a toothbrush that is suitable for your gums, and any dental issues that you might have. As we have all been taught as a child; brush your teeth at least three times a day, this step is a must when learning how to keep teeth clean.

  2. Step 2

    There are many all natural to cleaning agents out there so that you can avoid chemicals that are commonly used for oral hygiene, but are also known to cause permanent damage to dental enamel and loss of bone density, which leads to osteoporosis.

  3. Step 3

    Baking soda is one of the most common used agents for cleaning teeth. Take about 2 table spoons of baking soda into the palm of your hand; and then get the damp bristles of your toothbrush into the baking soda, you can then continue to brush your teeth as you would normally.

  4. Step 4

    How to keep teeth clean if you wear braces. Make sure you brush every surface of each tooth paying particular attention to the areas where tooth and gums meet. Angle the bristles of the toothbrush so that they also clean underneath the wire and around the brackets. Food debris and dental plaque left around the brace can cause tooth decay and gum disease.

  5. Step 5

    If your not satisfied with the toothbrush your using, get a soft bristle orthodontic toothbrush and a proxy brush. Using these 2 types will effectively clean braces. The hardest part to keep clean is the molar bands on the 1st molars and on the lower teeth under the brackets near the gums.

  6. Step 6

    Clean Baby Teeth:

    A soft bristled, small headed toothbrush should be used at least once per day before bedtime. It is recommended that you use a fluoride free toothpaste in children under 3 years old. Teeth that are touching should be flossed by an adult daily.

  7. Step 7

    How Often Should You get Your Teeth Cleaned:

    Some one with your amount of dental treatment should go every 3 months. It is the best way to prevent periodontal disease and to prevent decay. Also you can have any problems detected sooner this way.

Tips & Warnings
  • The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that children be evaluated by an orthodontist around the age of seven. By doing this,any problem that your child may have can be caught early.
