Pratice a Monologue
Pratice a Monologue

This is a good way to practice, look for and perform a good monologue. It can help you get cast in what ever you are auditioning for.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

You need to choose a piece that is good for you. It should compliment your acting ability, age and appearance. There are many people who make the mistake of doing a monologue that is clearly not there type.

  2. Step 2

You should know what you are auditioning for and pick your piece according to that. You do not want to do a Shakespeare monologue if the play was written for the 21st century.

  3. Step 3

You should make sure you have a piece that compliments your range and talents as a performer.

  4. Step 4

Now memorize the lines so you can start practicing your piece. You should make sure you have the lines down perfectly so you don't forget them because of your nerves.

  5. Step 5

Work on the character who is saying the piece.

  6. Step 6

You should work on your monologue in front of a mirror a few times, with a video camera or a friend so you can get some feedback and work harder and improve on that.

  7. Step 7

Be comfortable and confident when you step in the room before you do your piece.
