How to Remove Arm Hair

Removing hair from your arms is much like removing hair from any other part of your body. You can perform most methods at home with supplies available at any drug store. Shaving, plucking, waxing and depilatories are easy to do, but can cause minor skin irritation. You must perform the ritual regularly to keep your arms smooth. Instructions

1. Shave the hair on your arms. Use shaving cream and a razor, an all-in-one razor-soap combination or an electric shaver. The hair will not grow back thicker. Hair looks thicker because the ends have been bluntly cut. If you have a small amount of hair to remove, try plucking it with tweezers.

2. Use wax to remove unwanted hair. Follow package directions carefully so that the wax is warm enough to spread on your arms but cool enough to avoid burns. Let the wax dry on your arm, then pull it off, bringing the unwanted hair with it.

3. Use a hair bleach to make darker arm hair appear less noticeable. While you won't remove the hair, this is yet another alternative to shaving with a razor.

4. Use a depilatory. Depilatories dissolve the unwanted hairs, and growth can be slower than with other methods. Do a patch test on the skin on the inside of your wrist to ensure that the chemical will not harm you. Spread the depilatory on the unwated hair, wait for it to work according to package directions and rinse off.

5. See your doctor about electrolysis or laser treatment. Both methods target the hair follicle, slowing or ending the hair growth. These treatments can be expensive and require multiple sessions.
