The basic recipe of chocolate cake and chocolate fudge icing.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups cream
  • 8 spoons cocoa powder
  • 1/2 spoon vanilla essence
  • 1 spoon baking powder
  • 1 baking dish
  • Some bowls
  • 1 saucepan
  1. Step 1

In a bowl add one cup sugar and one cup cream. Beat well together till they get creamed and sugar almost dissolves.

  2. Step 2

Now add the four eggs one at a time and blend the batter. Add half the vanilla essence.

  3. Step 3

Sieve the cup of flour together with the baking powder and four spoons of cocoa powder. Do this at least three times, this will make the cake lighter and fluffier.

  4. Step 4

Now add the sieved flour to the cake batter. Fold it in one spoonful at a time. Mix well to avoid and lumps. Continue till all the flour is added to the batter.

  5. Step 5

Grease the microwave safe baking dish. Pour in the cake batter. Put into the microwave on high for 4 minutes. Then let it stand for ten minutes in the microwave.

  6. Step 6

In the sauce pan add the remaining cup of cream and sugar. Put it on low heat on the hob. Let it dissolve. Add remaining vanilla essence.

  7. Step 7

Add the four spoons of cocoa powder to it and stir well. No lumps should form. Cook till the mixture begins to bubble.

  8. Step 8

Stir constantly as you cook the fudge icing on low heat. Take off heat when it begins to stick to the spoon and is not too fluid. It usually takes between 8 to 10 minutes. Keep aside to cool.

  9. Step 9

Remove the cake from the microwave oven. Slice it into two circles. Pour some of the chocolate fudge icing and sandwich the two halves. Now pour the remaining icing on the surface.

  10. Step 10

Clean up the look of the frosting on the cake and slip it into the fridge for the icing to set. Leave it in the fridge for an hour. Then cut and serve.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you are using a regular oven instead of the microwave, preheat it to 180 degrees. The cooking time will be about 15 minutes.
  • Wear oven gloves when taking the cake out of the microwave.
