In the blood of the body, there is a balance of acidity and alkalinity that is called the pH balance. When the body becomes very acidic, you can be susceptible to inflammation, colds, infections, and fatigue. When you balance out the amount of acidity in the body, you can rid yourself of these conditions and end up feeling energized. The way to make this happen is by following the right diet plan that includes the avoidance of harmful foods and the addition of beneficial foods.

Things You'll Need:

  • pH test strips
  1. Step 1

Cut out the acidic foods. There are a lot of foods that are high in acid and should be avoided. Some of these include deep fried foods, processed foods, refined carbohydrates, and foods that are high in saturated fats.

  2. Step 2

Cut out the acidic beverages. Acidity can also be found in various beverages which should also be eliminated from the diet. Some of these include soda, sweetened teas and fruit juices, coffee, and alcohol.

  3. Step 3

Eat more foods that are alkaline. Just as there are acidic foods, there are also alkaline foods which should be incorporated into the diet. Some of these include salad greens, sprouts, cucumbers, celery, avocados, broccoli, lemons, and limes.

  4. Step 4

Get some alkaline boosters. Alkaline boosters are drops of trace minerals that get added to your water to make it alkaline. Drinking alkaline water can really help buffer your body's acidity.

  5. Step 5

Get pH test strips. After you have changed your diet, you can check your pH with the use of testing strips. To check your pH, place a urine or saliva sample on the strip and then compare it to the scale that came with the kit. It will turn a color ranging from light yellow to dark green. If it is yellow, you are acidic; if it is green, you are alkaline.

Tips & Warnings
  • Eating all alkaline foods might be a bit extreme. Try to at least eat alkaline foods with every meal you eat. This will help to create balance.
