Instructions

      Open Microsoft Word. Click "Open" from the "File" menu in Word 2003 or earlier, or the "Office Button" in Word 2007.

      Click the drop-down arrow to the right of the "Files of Type" box in the "Open" window. Select "Recover Text from Any File."

      Find and click on the PowerPoint file in the "Open" window. Click "Open." The file will open as text.

      Go to the "File" menu in Word 2003 or earlier and point to "Send To." Select "Microsoft Office PowerPoint." In PowerPoint 2007, add "Send to PowerPoint" to the Quick Access Toolbar by clicking the arrow at the end of the toolbar and selecting "Customize." Select "Send to Microsoft Office PowerPoint" from the list of commands and click "Add." Then, go back to the QAT toolbar and click "Send to Microsoft Office PowerPoint."

      Format the new slide show that opens in PowerPoint and save it with a new name.
