How to Make a Logo in Adobe Photoshop
As the name implies, Photoshop is a powerful tool for editing photos. It is also a great tool for creating pixel-based graphics. Using Photoshop's text tool and the same tools used to edit photos, you can design an effective logo quickly. By following a few moderately easy steps, you can learn how to make a logo using Adobe Photoshop CS3. The same steps will apply to other versions of Photoshop; however, the commands may be in different locations.

Select the font and font size for each layer of text. Highlight the text and select the font from the "Set the Font Family" and the size of the font from the "Set the Font Size" drop-down box. To preview the font, highlight it. Then, select the "Set the Font Family" drop-down box. Press the up and down arrow to view different fonts. Once you have selected the fonts, position the text. When designing logos with text, it is usually a good idea to select either exactly the same font or completely different fonts.

Add the color to the logo. Add a new layer and send it to the back by selecting "Layer>Arrange>Send to Back." Select the "Paint Bucket Tool." Then, double-click on the "Set Foreground Color" box to select a color for the background. Click on the background layer to apply this color. To change the color of the text, highlight the text. Then, select the color.

Add the remaining elements to the logo design. To add an image to the design, select "File>Place..." and drop the image into the logo. To apply an effect to the layer, select the layer in the "Layer Palette." Then, select the desired effect from the "FX" drop box. Use the "Paint Brush," "Pen" or shape tools to add any additional elements to the logo.
