How to Beat World 3 in Super Mario Brothers 3
World 3 of Super Mario Brothers 3 is titled "Water Land"; the majority of the levels are completely waterlogged and require Mario and Luigi to swim. While World 3 is not the most difficult level of the entire game, new enemies, strange levels and castles will cost you a few lives.

Swim from left to right to complete each level in World 3. Some of the levels are self-scrolling, but most will require you to walk forward on your own. However, Mario and Luigi will only be able to move backward in some towers.

Collect a frog suit from "Toad House 3"as soon as possible in Super Mario Brothers 3. The suit will make it extremely easy for Mario to swim and move around in the water. He will also be able to enter pipes and secret locations that were previously impenetrable because of moving bubbles.

Run and jump every chance you get, beginning with level 3-3. At this dangerous stage, the entire platform lowers and your walking area is covered in water in which it is too low to swim and too high to walk or run comfortably. To add to the difficulty of this level, a large "Cheep Cheep" fish called Boss Bass will be swimming around; if you're not careful, he will swallow Mario whole and end that round.

Gather fire flowers in World 3 to ensure that you always have fire power. Along with the frog suit, fire Mario will have an easier time beating each water level if he can easily throw fireballs at anything that jumps out at him from the water.

Jump and look around the water levels, because small "Cheep Cheeps" will continuously jump out of the water and into your path, in an attempt to kill you. One wrong jump will lower your power or end that round if you are little Mario.

Beat World 3 of Super Mario Brothers 3 by defeating King Koopa's only daughter, Wendy. When you reach the end of her air ship, jump into the pipe to confront her. Wendy will use her wand to throw a variety of shapes at you. Jump or run to avoid them, and hop on her head. Hit her three times to finish this level. If you have fire power, you can also throw 10 fireballs at Wendy to kill her.

Tips & Warnings
As small Mario, take the time to use a mushroom from your collection before entering the next level. Collect as many power-ups as possible and check every special location to get special powers for Mario and Luigi.
Most enemies will only take away some of Mario's power, but in World 3, avoid enemies that will take one life for every hit. Keep moving as you swim; once you stop, Mario will sink to the bottom and die.
