      Click on the "My Computer" icon on your desktop. This will bring up a folder containing a list of hard drives and external devices connected to your computer.

      Click on "My Network Places" from the list of options on the left side of the "My Computer" folder.

      Click on "View Network Connections" from the list of options on the left side of the "My Network Places" folder.

      Right-click on the icon that says "Wireless Network Connection," and select the "Properties" option.

      Click on the "Wireless Networks" tab. Select your wireless connection from the list of "Preferred Networks," and click on the "Properties" button.

      You should see a screen allowing you to add a password to your network. Choose a password carefully, something that is hard to guess, and type in the password.

  • Every device on the network needs the password to connect to it, so write down the password and keep it in a safe place.
