Things You'll Need:
- Wasp or hornet spray containing pyrethroids
- Protective clothing
- Hammer
- Wall repair kit
-
Step 1
Put on protective clothing before approaching the hive. A bee suit is best, but if you do not have one, wear thick clothing that will cover as much of the body as possible. Consider wearing goggles and a hat as well.
-
Step 2
Determine the exact location of the hive in the wall. This may require the use of a hammer to make holes in the wall.
-
Step 3
Spray wasp or hornet spray on the hive. This is best done at night because all the bees will be in the hive and will be less active.
-
Step 4
Repeat Step 3 a few more times because the bees may have had pupa (babies) protected in the hive. Spray every two or three days until there are no more bees.
-
Step 5
Clean any honey in the hive so the smell will not attract additional bees.
-
Step 6
Use a wall repair kit to seal off any holes so bees will not return.
