This fruit salad is my grandma's recipe and is so yummy! It's great as a summer dessert or snack on a hot day. Serve it at a pool party or BBQ. It's a quirky recipe because of the ingredients, but it is really good. You can also make substitutions or additions with different fruits or flavors of Jello. I also like to make it with strawberry jello and bananas. Another variation that tastes just as delicious is lemon and lime jello with canned mandarin oranges.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 small boxes of apricot jello
  • 2/3 cup of water
  • 2 small jars of apricot baby food dessert
  • 1/3 cup of sugar
  • 1 cup crushed pineapple
  • 2 packages of Dream Whip
  • 8 oz. package of cream cheese, softened
  1. Step 1

In a saucepan, mix: jello, water, baby food, sugar, and pineapple.

  2. Step 2

Heat until boiling, then cool in fridge until firm.

  3. Step 3

Whip Dream Whip according to directions on the package.

  4. Step 4

Add cream cheese to the Dream Whip and continue whipping until smooth.

  5. Step 5

Pour cold jello mixture into the whipped cheese and mix together.

  6. Step 6

Pour into glass dish or individual serving glasses and refrigerate overnight.

  7. Step 7

    Serve chilled and enjoy.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you can't find apricot jello, orange or tangerine is the best substitute.
