How to get CCW Concealed Carry Permit Firearm / Gun / Weapon in Utah
Your concealed carry permit, or CCW Permit, is valid in 33 states including Utah. It is valid for 5 years. Before you are permitted to carry a concealed weapon, you must apply for the permit. Unlawfully carrying your weapon before you are permitted to may result in criminal or civil penalties.
Things You'll Need
- PATIENCE
- Cost of class
- Photo copy of your ID
- 1 (BLUE & WHITE) APPLICANT FINGERPRINT CARD
- One recent color photograph of passport quality - 2"X2"NAME MUST BE ON BACK OF PHOTO!!
- A non-refund fee of $65.25 to BCI
- 21 years old or older
- Clean/Expunged Criminal Background Record

Find an NRA/POST certified instructor to take a class. You can obtain a list of instructors from the Utah Bureau of Criminal Identification.

Get your fingerprints and a passport quality photo at the Bureau of Criminal Identification. Your class may offer both services in conjunction with your education.

Obtain an application from your instructor. The application must be stamped and signed by the instructor.

Submit your fingerprints, photo, application and fee to the Bureau of Criminal Identification within one year of the end date of your class. You can do this in person or by mail. It will typically take around 60 days for you to receive your permit in the mail.
