How to Fit a Shower Door
Shower doors often provide a remodeled look to an existing bathroom. Replacing a shower curtain with a shower door can make a bathroom look newer and improve your home's resale value. Shower doors are also easier to keep clean. Shower curtains tend to collect soap scum and mildew rapidly, and replacing them frequently is inconvenient. The gassing off of vinyl in new shower curtains is not at all pleasant or healthy either. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Use the tape measure to carefully measure the opening where the shower door is to be installed.
-
2
Use the information obtained in step one to select a shower door kit at the home improvement store. Most bathtubs are of a standard size, so nearly all shower door kits most likely will be compatible with your bathtub, but do be sure to measure the tub and check the shower door packaging carefully to be certain. If you have any reason to believe that your tub opening is not within the range stated on the shower door package, enlist the help of an employee of the home improvement store for more assistance.

3
Tape the side rails from the shower door kit into place on the walls on the sides of the tub.
-
4
Measure the distance from the bottom of one side rail to the next to determine the length that you must cut the bottom track to fit.
-
5
Cut the bottom track with the hacksaw to the correct length.
-
6
Fit the track into the tub opening, then insert the door. If you want detailed instructions on installation, please visit the link listed in the resource section of this article.
