How to Convert Tod to AVI

Tod is a video format that you get with some HD video cameras. If you want to be able to use those Tod video files in other programs or devices, you can convert from Tod to AVI with a video converter program. The AVS Video Converter is a popular Tod to AVI converter on the CNET Download Center. You can quickly and easily convert your Tod videos to AVI format with the AVS Video Converter.

  1. Step 1

    Download and install the AVS Video Converter from the CNET Download Center (see Resources). The download is free and you can use it for a trial period before having to pay to keep it. 2009 price: $39.00.

  2. Step 2

    Run the AVS Video Converter on your computer. Click "Browse" by the "Input File Name" field to select the Tod files that you want to convert.

  3. Step 3

    Click the "To AVI" button on the toolbar. This will set your output format as AVI file.

  4. Step 4

    Click the drop-down menu by "Profile." This will show you the available AVI formats that you can choose from. You can stick with the standard AVI or you can choose DivX if you want the file compressed.

  5. Step 5

    Click "Browse" by "Output File Name." Select a location for the AVI files to go once they are converted.

  6. Step 6

    Convert the files by clicking "Convert Now!" This will start the conversion and the progress bar by the button will fill as the files convert. Click "OK" when the pop up appears to let you know the conversion has completed. You will then be able to use the new AVI files.
