To bid on Federal Grant contracts you will have to register at the following website: www.ccr.gov(Central Contractor Registration). Once at this site click on the link on the left side "Start New Registration". Read through this website to become familiar with the policies and background and the requirements of registration with ccr.gov. You will need a DUNS number(Data Universal Numbering System) in order to register at this website. If you do not have a DUNS number you can obtain one at http://fedgov.dnb.com/webform. It will take about 1 business day to be created. Note: If you are applying as an individual registration at this site is not required.

  2. Step 2

Once you have registered at www.ccr.gov you will want to register at the following websites: www.Fedbizopps.gov, www.Fedconnect.net and www.grants.gov. At fedbizopps click on the "Register Now" link located under "Vendors/Citizen" on the home page. At fedconnect.net click on the "Register as a Vendor" link. At grants.gov click on the "Get Registered" link on the left side of the home page.

I recommend to read through the websties mentioned above to become familiar with them before applying for government grant contract opportunities. On fedbiz.gov click on "Advanced Search" under "Find Opportunities" and choose your search criteria.
On fedconnect.net click on "search public opportunities" to search for active solicitations from the government.
Grants.gov "Find Grant Opportunities" link on the left side of the home page and select your search criteria.

Tips & Warnings
  • This process will take 1 to 2 days if you work adamantly and read through the websites provided thoroughly. When registering at CCR you will need information such as NAIC codes, PSC codes and FSC codes. CCR.gov will provide links to lookup the codes to decipher which codes apply to your business as well as the definition and what these codes are used for.
