Things You'll Need:
- WD-40
-
Step 1
Thoroughly clean the underside of the reel mower with a hose to get out all the big chunks of grass.
-
Step 2
Then use a damp rag and wipe down all the blades and cutting surfaces until everything is squeaky clean.
-
Step 3
WD-40Make sure that everything is dried completely before this last step. Now that the lawnmower is dry spray some WD-40 on all cutting surfaces and along the underside of the shield if your reel mower has one. This will prevent things grass from getting stuck, making it easier to clean in the future. It will also lubricate and protect from water damage and rusting.
-
Step 4
Allow the WD-40 to dry before the next use so as not to damage the lawn in any way.
Your lawnmower should now be in tiptop shape for the rest of the season.
