French Clay is a great ingredient to use in making a smooth and natural facial mask. This mask helps to exfoliates bacteria and impurities from the skin, leaving the skin feeling new. French green clay body is very fine and contains minerals like potassium, magnesium and calcium; these are good nutrients for the skin. These are steps to make and apply a basic facial French Clay Mask.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Start by buying a quality, very fine grade French green Clay. A pound of this clay is sufficient for a few applications, but you can buy more for future use. The cost is around $ 8.00 a pound and can be found in Body and Bath shops. Also, get purified water.

  2. Step 2

If desired use a small bottle of essential oil. Use chamomile essential oil for most skin types. Other oils that may be used include: jasmine, geranium and lavender depending on preference and skin type. Use natural organic essential oils if you are going to add any oil to the clay mix.

  3. Step 3

Mix the French green clay powder and the purified water in a large bowl, start with 3 ounces of clay powder and one teaspoon of water. Stir the ingredients to create a consistent texture mix. Add more clay or water to obtain the desired texture. Use a teaspoon of your choice of essential oil, if desired and mix with the clay and water.

  4. Step 4

Apply evenly to the face keeping the mix away from the eyes. Use a brush or the finger tips. Let the application dry off (45 minutes to one hour) and then rinse it all out. If desired apply your facial moisturizer on a dry skin.
