As someone who has been an animal lover since the day she was born, I honestly can't imagine my life without pets.

I have always had at least one cat in my life and I can tell you this: They take to pampering like a duck takes to water!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Litter
  • Fresh water
  • Their favorite food
  • A warm bed in winter
  • A soft bed year round
  • A perch off of the floor
  • Toys
  • Attention
  1. Step 1

Make certain your cat's litter box is in a convenient location for her and (very importantly) make sure it's always clean. Cats have no tolerance for uncleanliness and untidiness.

A cat's litter box is extremely important to her. Keep it and the area around it as clean and spotless as possible.

  2. Step 2

Make sure you always have your cat's favorite food on hand. Also, when you feed her, do so with love and happiness. This is a very important occasion for her and she want you to enjoy it too!

  3. Step 3

Cats love to sit up off of the ground. Be sure she has a convenient spot that is all her own. Don't let anyone else place books, papers, mail, or other ridiculous items in her spot. She doesn't have any use for them and will just consider them a bother.

  4. Step 4

Make sure your cat has a good assortment of toys - from balls to strings and toy mice. Don't just let the toys lie around, get down in the floor and play with your little girl (or boy, of course).

  5. Step 5

Give your cat fresh water several times a day. You wouldn't want to drink out of the same glass all day and neither does a pampered cat.

  6. Step 6

Be sure your cat is safe from harm as well as any perceived harm. Try to keep things around the house relatively calm and peaceful.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be affectionate with your pampered pet but never offended when she's in a "hands off" mood. Cats are simply deigned that way. Pet owners sometime get frustrated with a cat's personality when they expect them to behave like a dog. Cats are completely different from dogs and can't be expected to behave as they do.
  • If at all possible, have your pet spayed or neutered early in life.
  • If you're considering de-clawing your cat, please reconsider it. It simply is not what's best, safest, or most enjoyable for your cat.
