Throw a Backwards Party
Throw a Backwards Party

Are you throwing a party and not sure of the theme? If so, consider throwing a backwards party.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Write the invitation backwards. Make sure the guests know to wear their clothes backwards to the party. Tell them to enter the back door.

  2. Step 2

When guests arrive, greet them with "goodbye". Have them put on a name tag that says their name backwards and is worn on their back. This will be their new name during the party.

  3. Step 3

Do the order of what you would normally do backwards. Open gifts first, then cake, then eat snacks.

Make sure to sing Happy Birthday backwards (you may need to write the words on a poster board to help people). After singing Happy Birthday, have the birthday person blow out the candles that are not lit, then light the candles.

During snacks, you can eat under the table instead of on the table. You could serve breakfast instead of lunch or make your food inside out, such as a sandwich with the bread on the inside.

  4. Step 4

For games, consider classic games played backwards. You can pin the donkey on the tail. You can do a backwards race where people run backwards. Coloring outside the lines is also fun.

  5. Step 5

Make sure to tell your guests "Hello" when leaving.
