Get People to Hear Your Podcast

If you recorded audio in the .MP3 format, you don't have to do any additional converting or recording to get it ready for podcasting. There is no specified file format for podcasting, but .MP3 is the one that works with most services. What you now must do is figure out exactly where your Podcast will go. You need to upload it to a server so people can listen to it.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • An internet connection.
  1. Step 1

Upload your .MP3 file to Podcast People. Podcast People is a free service that allows you to upload .MP3 files to their server so that people can stream them for free from your own personalized web site. Free accounts are limited to a certain amount of bandwidth per month, but pay accounts can have unlimited access. You can set up an account at http://www.podcastpeople.com.

  2. Step 2

Upload your .MP3 file to a MySpace page. You can create a MySpace page specifically for your Podcast, at which point you can upload your files to the page allowing people to access your site and stream them for free. You can set up a MySpace account at http://www.myspace.com.

  3. Step 3

Put your Podcast in Apple's iTunes Store. It is free to put a podcast into the iTunes store, but you'll have to apply. This method of podcast distribution has its benefits, as the iTunes Store is seen by millions every day and files in the store can be easily downloaded and synced with an iPod. You can apply to put your podcast in the iTunes store at https://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZLabel.woa/wa/apply.
