Most people love personalized items. They like to see their names on pencils and pens and their pictures on T-shirts. But paying a professional to personalize items for you can be expensive. Thankfully, the average person can now take his own photographs and print them onto to transfer papers with do-it-yourself home kits. There are several different types of transfer papers (fabric, T-shirt, magnet, etc.) for you to choose from. Printing on Transfer Paper

  1. Step 1

Load your transfer paper into your printer. The type of printer you have will determine whether you load the paper transfer side up or down. Do a test printing or read your printer's manual to learn about printing specifics.

  2. Step 2

Upload your picture from your digital camera (or scan your photo) to your computer if you have not already done so. Open the picture folder on your computer and pick which photograph you would like to transfer. It does not matter which program you use to open your picture.

  3. Step 3

Click on the print option when the picture is displayed on your computer screen. This will print the picture image onto the transfer paper.

  4. How to Flip an Image

  5. Step 1

Open Paint (or your preferred photo editing software) if you would like to flip the photograph. This will be necessary if your photograph contains words.

  6. Step 2

Click "Edit" and choose "Select All" from the drop-down menu.

  7. Step 3

Click "Image" and choose "Flip/Rotate" from the drop-down menu.

  8. Step 4

Choose between horizontally or vertically flipping your photography. Click "OK" and save.

Tips & Warnings
  • To transfer a photo from your camera to your computer, you must have a digital camera. Connect the camera via a USB cord and follow the prompts. Do a test print on a regular sheet of paper. This will give you a preview of how your photograph will look on the transfer paper.
  • Not all printers are compatible with transfer papers. Make sure yours is before you purchase the paper.
