How to Browse a Blocked Website
Sometimes websites can be blocked with certain restrictions. NBC restricts people from outside the United States from watching its free shows. In the past, Thailand blocked YouTube from being viewed in the country. But there is a way to bypass the restrictions imposed by certain websites--by browsing through a proxy server, which acts as a middle point between you and the Web page you are trying to access.

1
Navigate to the PublicProxyServers website to select a functioning proxy server. This site gives a list of servers detailing their information such as server status and functionality.
-
2
Choose "Sorted by Rating" under the "Proxy List." The top score is 100 and goes down from there. A proxy server with a high rating score signifies a constantly reliable and fully functioning service with great quality.

3
Select a proxy server closest to your region. This will ensure a quick connection and data transfer between you, the proxy server and the blocked website. Choose the one with the best up-time percentage and to avoid any connection errors. After you have selected one, you will be redirected to the proxy's website.
-
4
Type the URL into the Web address field. Select any advanced options if there are any available such as disabling cookies or showing images on the site you are trying to access.
-
5
Press the "Browse" button to begin surfing the blocked site. If you are able to bypass the block and look around the website, then you have successfully used a proxy server to look at the blocked website.

Tips & Warnings
Be careful when transmitting sensitive information through a proxy server such as passwords and account information. Anybody who owns the proxy server will be able to see any keys you are pressing and could potentially house a key logger.
