How to Foam Roll Your Inner Thighs

Many people carry tension in their inner thighs, or adductor muscles, and don't even know it ... until they try the foam roller. The foam roller is a piece of equipment that can be used to roll out knots in muscles, also called self-myofacial release. By rolling the foam roller across your adductor muscles, you can find and release knots.

Instructions

    • 1

Lie on a foam roller with the roller positioned diagonally under one leg at the point where the inner thigh meets the hip. The leg you are rolling will be straight, but allow your other leg to bend at the knee. This may feel uncomfortable.

    • 2

Roll the foam down your leg toward the knee, but do not roll under the knee.

    • 3

Stop when you feel pain, and hold the position for 30 to 60 seconds.

    • 4

Continue rolling down the thigh until you find another knot or tender area. Hold that position for 30 to 60 seconds.

    • 5

Roll down your entire inner thigh, hitting positions more than once if necessary to alleviate pain completely.
