Things You'll Need:
- Credit Application
- Personal Information
-
Step 1
Insure that you have the best credit history possible. You can do this by paying your bills on time. It also helps to avoid taking on more debt than you can comfortably pay back, and to avoid carrying large balances on your credit cards.
-
Step 2
Visit a guitar center store, or visit their website at Guitarcenter.com (see Resources). You should read the terms of the card and be sure that the card is the best way for you to finance your purchase.
-
Step 3
Fill out the application as completely as possible. The card will ask for your name, social security number, and mailing address, as well as other questions. Provide as much information as possible, because an incomplete application is highly likely to be rejected.
-
Step 4
Await acceptance of your application for credit. It is important to note that your application is likely to be rejected if you have filed for bankruptcy in the past 10 years, have delinquent, past due, or unpaid accounts, or if you have had a major credit problem in the past 7 years. If your application is denied, don't give up. Take steps to repair your credit and try again.
-
Step 5
Make your purchase. Most products sold at Guitar Center are eligible for a 12 months no payments/no interest promotion. If you are eligible for that promotion, you can pay off your purchase over the next 12 months without paying interest on your purchase, or you can defer payments for 12 months without incurring late fees or damaging your credit history.
