Chantix 1-mg tablets

Chantix is a prescription medication that has been shown to be an effective aid in smoking cessation. Chantix attaches to the nicotine receptor sites in the brain and prevents the nicotine molecule from binding with them. This makes the nicotine less effective and reduces the pleasure attained from smoking. Your doctor can determine if Chantix is appropriate for you and explain its use and side effects.

    • 3

    • 4
      Stop smoking on day seven.

Stop smoking on day seven. If you smoke afterwards, quit again and continue the entire 12-week program.

    • 5

Take two blue (1-mg) tablets per day---one in the morning and one in the evening---for the remaining 11 weeks.

    • 6

Consult your doctor about continuing Chantix after 12 weeks.
