Hot dog costumes for babies are fun to make and can make your baby the life of the party. You just need a brown baby sleeper to make your baby the "bun" and a few pieces of construction paper for the hot dog and condiments.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Two small safety pins
  • One light brown baby sleeper set (you can also use brown pants and long sleeve T-shirt)
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick
  • Three large pieces of construction paper (dark brown, red and yellow)

    Making a Hot Dog Costume

  1. Step 1

Make a clear working space on a counter or table.

  2. Step 2

Take the scissors and first cut out the hot dog shape using the light brown construction paper. This will be the hot dog part of the costume. It should reach from under the baby's collar to just above his knees. Remember, the baby in the sleeper will be the costume's hot dog bun.

  3. Step 3

Take the scissors and then cut the red and yellow construction paper. This will be the ketchup and mustard for the hot dog. You want these pieces (strips) of construction paper to look more like swirls of mustard and ketchup than just a long piece of construction paper.

  4. Step 4

Use four safety pins to attach the the red and yellow construction pieces onto the hot dog construction paper. Attach one safety pin at the top of the hot dog (near the collar), another at the bottom of the hot dog. This will connect the yellow construction "swirl" piece to the hot dog. Repeat for the red (ketchup) construction piece.

  5. Step 5

Take the two small safety pins and connect the hot dog (dark brown piece of construction paper with yellow and red strips) to the brown sleeper set with the pins. To do this, you will have one safety pin on the the top of the hot dog, which should be pinned under the baby's collar. The bottom of the hot dog should be pinned just above her knees.

  6. Step 6

Put the costume on baby and enjoy.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure the safety pins are secure before putting the hot dog costume on your baby.
