How to Make Spoon Drop Fried Donuts

If you have a can of fruit cocktail, or any canned fruit you can add self rising flour and shake them in a bag of powdered sugar. WaLA! A breakfast or snack that is gone before it is cooled. My family sees me opening a can of fruit they get the milk and sit at the table.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • oil to fry in
  • self rising flour
  • canned fruit of any kind (fruit cocktail is a good one)
  • powdered sugar
  • paper bag
  • plate to put them on
  1. Step 1

    open a can of fruit cocktail, or peaches, or pears, pineapples, whatever. Add a cup and a half of self rising flour. stir. should be loose spoonable mix.

  2. Step 2

    heat your oil until a drop of water dances in it. Take a tablespoon and start dropping in the batter. Put a cup of powdered sugar in a paper bag. As the donuts start to brown flip them over carefully.

  3. Step 3

    Place the still hot donuts in the bag of powdered sugar and fold the top of the bag down and shake and place the coated donuts on a plate.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can substitute sugar and cinnamon mixture for the powdered sugar coating if you want.
  • Have lots of cold milk
  • Or coffee
  • or hot chocolate in the colder months
  • very hot be careful.
  • very sweet - not for diabetics unless you are very good at the exchanges.
