In this bad economy, we should feel lucky to have jobs. But jobs can still be boring and even miserable. Here are some tips to make your time at work more pleasant and rewarding.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Make friends with coworkers and your bosses. Don't socialize to the extent that you'll get into trouble, but making connections helps. By getting to know your bosses, you will be more likely to be promoted, and making friends with coworkers will give you something to look forward to every day and help with teamwork. It's even a good idea to befriend interns because you never know where they will end up, and they could help you get where you want to go.

  2. Step 2

Perk up your desk. Bring in flowers or a plant. Put up photos of you and loved ones, or vacation pictures to help you escape every once in a while. Take the time to really organize your desk so that you feel less stressed. If your office has a relaxed atmosphere, you can even get a massage cushion for the back of your chair.

  3. Step 3

Avoid eating at your desk. If possible, eat outside in the nice weather and bring lunch from home to save money. Or if you eat lunch inside, take a walk outside when you've finished. It will invigorate you and prevent that afternoon slump that happens after you eat.

  4. Step 4

Ask for more work or projects. It might sound ridiculous, but not having enough work to do can make the day drag on and on. Your boss will appreciate your enthusiasm, and it will give you an opportunity to learn new skills, setting you up for a promotion later on.
