Things You'll Need:
- Garden location
- Set up equipment
- Props
- Wedding day guest list
-
Step 1
Reserve the garden venue location early as possible. Outdoor weddings are very popular in South Florida and other warm places for example. There may be a waiting period issue. As an officiant, I advise clients to reserve at least 3 months in advance.
-
Step 2
Consider your guest list. Does anyone have allergies that could make an outdoor event uncomfortable? Well, if yes, you may want to have a location that is under a tent for the guests to help the situation. Always give a warning well before the event because there may be medicine or other precautions they can take.
-
Step 3
Select the props and the vendors that will be appropriate at the outdoor garden location. If they have never been to the location, have them do a walk through to determine what extras they may need. For instance, the Disc Jockey will need to know of the nearest electrical outlet.
-
Step 4
Consider your wedding date, and the time of the year. Is it the rainy season? Perhaps, you may want to reschedule or have a backup plan. A green garden wedding does not mean everything is to be wet including you.
-
Step 5
A green garden wedding incorporates fresh everything. This means fresh flowers that will be reused in some way later, and a tranquil venue location.
-
Step 6
Follow the steps in "How to Be Green for A Wedding." The link is located in the resources below. Be ready for a green garden wedding event to remember with the foliage.
