How to Look Like Katy Perry

KATY PERRY IS AWESOME. Enough said.

Instructions

1. Katy Perry's style is the best mix of 80s and 60s style that I can think of. She loves retro and bright unusual articles of clothing.

2. Go to salon and bring a picture of Katy Perry along. Ask your hairstylist for the "Katy Perry" hairstyle. Your hairstylist should know how that hairstyle looks like. If your hairstylist doesn't have a clue, then ask them not to give you side bangs. Ask them to give you bangs that are cut straight across. Also ask for hair 2 inches below the chin. Your hair can be slightly layered, but it is better to not layer your hair at all.

3. Dye you hair and your eyebrows black.

4. To get her retro-chic pale skin, stay out of the sun. If you are not naturally fair skinned, apply a lot of sunscreen. You can also use skin-lighteners, such as lemon juice, but I would recommend you not to use them. They can damage your skin, and you should embrace your natural beauty. You don't need to look EXACTLY like Katy Perry. Also, Katy occasionally uses self-tanner, so you could be the tan version of Katy.

5. Wear red or hot pink lipstick. These are her two signature colors.

6. Buy fake eye lashes and wear a lot of eye makeup. Some good eye shadow colors are purple, blue, pink.

7. Find a good foundation and blush for your skin tone. If you do not know your skin tone, read my article on How to Determine you Skin Tone. If you have a warm skin tone, wear blush with gold or orange hints. If you have fair skin wear blush with gold hints. If you have a darker skin tone wear blush with orange hints. If you have a cool skin tone, like Katy, wear blush with hints of purple or pink. If you are fair-skinned, wear blush with hints of pink. If you are dark skinned, wear blush with hints of purple.

8. Straighten your hair for everyday occasions. Coif your hair for special events.

9. Katy Perry likes to wear plenty of bright colored and vintage accessories. She likes to look like a pin-up girl. Shop at vintage stores or thrift shops.

10. Also buy plenty of bright colored high-heels and sneakers. Buy a lot of those funky 80's colorful sneakers that Adidas and Nike sell. Shop at the Adidas Originals shop or create your own Nike sneakers online. Ebay is also a good outlet to buy those shoes for less.

11. You can shop at thrift shops or Forever 21 for the retro chic clothes. Buy high waist shorts and cocktail dresses. Buy clothes that have a lot of stripes or polka dots. Buy skinny jeans and funky 80's off the shoulder shirts. You can also buy tight push-up tanks and tube tops in bright colors. Buy tight and short dresses that can almost be suggestive of lingerie.

12. Also add a hint of fruits to your outfits. She said she loves to add a hint of fruit to her outfits. She had dress that looked like a watermelon on the today show. You can add a hint of fruit to your outfits by buying clothes in cherry, watermelon, banana, pineapple, etc patterns.

13. Get bright accessories. Buy funky jewelry like neon plastic bracelets and bright handbags. Buy aviators or vintage cat-eye sunglasses. Wear colorful bows and headbands. Wear a bright and big belt to give shape to some of your dresses.

14. Paint your nails in bright colors!
