If you want to begin selling on eBay.com, you may want to know where to go to purchase low cost items that you can resell on their auction site. I share some of my favorite places to buy merchandise and then resell it on eBay.com. If you want to learn where to go without spending a lot of money and where to look for deals, you have come to the right place.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1
    Half Price Books
    Half Price Books

Shop at Half Price Books. You can find some great deals at this store. Every now and then they will have a side walk sale and have books, music, and other items marked down really low. You can shop from their site online.

  2. Step 2

Check your local library for when they have book sales. Many of the books that are for sale are in good or excellent condition and can be resold on eBay even if they have the library markings. Just be sure to mention that in your description of your books. I have found and sold several books from library sales. I have purchased books for 50 cents and resold them for almost 10 times that or more.

I had great success buying and reselling DK Travel Guides on eBay.

  3. Step 3

Never underestimate the Dollar Stores. Every state does not have the same merchandise in it from state to state, so you may be able to offer someone something that they really want. You can also shop online at the Dollar Stores. Dollar Tree has a site. Visit that site and buy in cases if you like a product.

Go to the toy section and you may find a collector's item. Look for all type of Disney merchandise.

  4. Step 4

Always check the end caps at all the stores you shop at. The end caps are the items that are for sale at the end of the aisles. Some are toward the back of the stores, so be sure to check all the aisles.

  5. Step 5

Shop at the Goodwill Stores. Sometimes you can find great bargains there. You can find name brand jeans, designer purses and designer clothes. Every day Goodwill offers a discount on merchandise that has the color tag for the day. Every so often Goodwill Stores has everything in its store at 50% off. Also look for the locked cases at Goodwill. They keep the more expensive items in there, like name brand purses and top Xbox games. They may also sell jewelry you can buy that is sold in bunches. You can also shop at Goodwill online.

  6. Step 6

Check out Flea Markets, Thrift Stores and go to Garage sales. Look for jewelry, paintings, furniture and especially kids toys. If you like many things you find at a garage sale, make the seller an offer. Most people just want the items off of their hands, so they are prepared to deal with you. Make them an offer they can't refuse. If you are at the garage sale and it is about to end, you have a better chance of getting more items for a better price because the seller wants to get rid of the merchandise. The more you can purchase, the more money you can make selling on eBay.com or any online auction site.

See the resources section for tips on buying and selling on eBay.com.

  7. Step 7

Look for low cost items right on the eBay.com site and then turn right back around and resell them. You may find a seller who has under priced an item and be able to list it for what it really is worth.
