Things You'll Need:
- clippers
- clipper guides
- clipper oil
- towel or smock

Step 1
picturesof.netSet up. It is necessary to have an outlet in the immediate vicinity. Layout your clippers and accessories. Decide on the length you want your hair to be. The clipper guides usually range from 1/8in to 3/4in. Place your towel or smock around you to catch the hair and protect your clothing.

Step 2
fotosearch.comThe cut. Oil the clippers before beginning. The clippers will do the work for you. Don't be fearful that it will be uneven, the guide will ensure that the cut is even.

Work front to back laying the guide flush to your scalp until your entire head has been cut.

The back. You may think that getting the back of your head will be hard but if you use the front to back motion the guide will do all the work.

Step 5
Repeat. Comb through and repeat prior steps until all stray hair have been caught by the guide.

on 10/9/2009 I have 3 boys, plus my husband. I save a lot of money cutting their hair. Very nerve-wracking the first few times, but I've been doing it for over 10 years and it goes quick now. I'm only on my second pair of $15 clippers. The first burnt out because I used them to shave our pigs. (Hint: Use animal clippers for the pigs instead!) :-)
