Things You'll Need:
- contact paper
- construction paper
- scissors
- artistic flare!

Step 1
Step one you want to gather the contact paper. Yes, that wonderful stuff your grandmother or aunt used to line the cabinets with.
There are many types of contact paper ,various colors and prints, out there now and it has become more and more popular to have wall decals . These wall decals are easy to do , very easy to change , and fairly inexpensive. -
Step 2
Now that you have found the color, and/or colors of contact paper you want it is time to grab your construction paper.
What I like to do is find pictures of flowers, branches or birds, really anything you desire , out of books or online. A little research will go a long way for coming up with an idea. Get a copy of the picture.
Simply cut out the silohette of the flower, bird , star, ect.
Then lay the cut out on top of the construction paper and cut around it or trace the design with a pencil . The construction paper will allow you to have more of a stable foundation for the contact paper. Also working with the construction paper will let you work with mistakes so you do not waste your contact paper.
Since I am an artist(although you do not have to be an artist to do this) I will also scketch some fun things on the construction paper to cut out also. Be creative , since this is not detailed work , more of just percision in cutting, you can relax and let your mind flow with your design. -
Step 3
I will then place the construction paper up to the wall in the area I have chosen to decorate to make sure of the size. I even love getting a little crazy and going up on the ceiling or on molding.
-
Step 4
Now you have your design laid out . Place the construction paper on the contact paper. You can either cut around the construction paper or draw around it. If you cut around the construction paper , use a small piece of scotch tape or painters tape to hold it in place , this will settle some frustration for you with it moving about as you cut.
-
Step 5
Great , now you have your design cut out. Time to peel and stick . Make sure the wall is clean and free of dust and debris. Simply place and stick . Smooth it out with a credit card or something flat to make sure it isn't bubbled up.
Stand back and observe. You have created a great piece of artwork that can complement any room. Also, the wonderful part is , when you are ready to move or sell your home, simply peel away.
I hope you enjoyed this and thank you for stopping by.
