How to Adjust Hair Trimmers

Hair trimmers are great for when you can't get to the barber and need to clean up your hairstyle. They are quick and easy to use and can keep your hair looking neat and clean between cuts. Hair trimmers come with different size guards that you can adjust to cut your hair to the length you desire. Adjusting your hair trimmers is fairly easy, and once you've done it, you'll have the ability to cut your hair to whatever length you want simply by adjusting the blades.

• Hair trimmer
• Trimmer guard

Instructions

1. Press the release catch on the hair trimmers to remove the previously used trimmer guard. If there is not a guide being used, you can skip this step. Remove the guide by tugging lightly on it. If it does not come off right away, try releasing the catch again. Don't force it.

2. Place the guide to the side. Choose a new guide based on how long you want you hair to be. There will be a measurement printed on the side of each one, from 1/8 inch to 1 inch.

3. Take the guide that you've chosen and place it on the end of the hair trimmers. Gently push the guide attachment down until you hear the catch click into place.

4. Wiggle the top of the trimmer guide to make sure it is in place properly and that it pivots. It should move back and forth slightly to allow for the pivoting on the head, but should still be securely attached to the trimmer.
