How to Uncompress 7Z Files
7z is a compressed file archive created using the open source, high compression file archiver 7-Zip. These files are created to efficiently store and transmit large amounts of data. 7z files have many features, including AES-256 encryption, support for Unicode file names, and file sizes up to 16 exabytes (16,000,000,000 GB). While many programs can extract 7z files, including Corel WinZip, ZipZag, WinRAR, PeaZip, ZipGenius and ConeXware PowerArchiver, the 7-Zip utility is easy to use and free.
