An integral part of Outback cuisine are the sauces used, including the restaurant's oft-ordered ranch dressing, used on salads and as a dipping sauce. You can recreate a dressing very similar to the one used in Outback to bring restaurant-style dining home.

Things You'll Need

  • 1 tsp. ranch buttermilk dressing mix
  • 1 cup of mayonnaise
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. paprika
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • Salad shaker or mixing bowl
  • Mix all the ingredients in a salad shaker or medium-sized mixing bowl, making sure any lumps have been smoothed out.

  • Place the dressing mixture in the refrigerator for a minimum of 30 minutes to chill properly before use.

  • Remove the chilled dressing from the refrigerator and serve immediately over salad or as an appetizer dipping sauce.

Tips & Warnings

  • Try increasing the spice content of your dressing by adding more cayenne pepper to the mix and less paprika.
