How to Make a Torn & Cut Up Tee Shirt

Torn-up T-shirts have casual appeal and are also easy to make. Not only are they cost effective, but they are a fun craft to do with a large group of kids. Everyone can wait in line as the T-shirts are "torn." Adding tears in the shirts gives a new look to the shirts and is a great way to make a new shirt out of an old one.

1. Wash the T-shirt. If you are using an old T-shirt, this will make sure the shirt is clean before you began cutting.

2. Use the scissors to cut a swath near the collar. This allows the collar to open and hang from one of the shoulders.

3. Make a slash in one of the sleeves. This can be done on one sleeve or both, depending on preference.

4. Make extra slashes on the sides of the body of the shirt. The body of the shirt can also be left intact. To decide on how many slashes to make in the shirt, it will depend completely on the personality of the person wearing the shirt.

5. Put on the shirt and make a fashion statement.
