Instructions

    • 1

Using the Microsoft Word program, create a new, blank document. On the tool bar, choose Format, then the Font tool and choose "Broadway" style lettering. On the Font Size tool to the right, click on "18."

    • 2

On the top left of the page, type in capitals with the following line breaks:
      YOU'RE INVITED TO A
      SURPRISE
      BIRTHDAY PARTY FOR
      (Name of Birthday Person)
(leave space for birthday clip art)
      (Date and Time of party)
R.S.V.P. (Name of person to call)
      (Telephone number)

    • 3

Copy a birthday image from a free clip-art website and paste it in the space between the name of the birthday person and the date and time of the event. Resize the image as desired by clicking on the image, placing the cursor at one corner and making the image smaller or larger.

    • 4

Cut and paste the invitation and image as follows: Put the cursor at the top left of the writing on the page, hold down the top left button on the mouse and move the cursor down to the bottom right of the writing, selecting the invitation text. Release the mouse button and click "Copy." Move the cursor below the first invitation text and press "Paste" using the mouse's top left button. Leave two inches of space between the two invitation texts. Repeat this procedure to create as many invitations as will fit on the page.

    • 5

Print the page of invitations onto white card stock. Print as many invitations as necessary.

    • 6

Cut the individual invitations with the paper cutter into 3 3/4-inch by 4 1/2-inch pieces. Attach strips of double-sided tape to the back of each invitation and press onto the center of the dark card stock.

    • 7

Using the silver metallic marker, write "Surprise!" on the dark card stock above and below the invitation. Insert each invitation into an envelope and distribute by hand or mail.
