Smoking...it's nasty, bad for us and expensive, but we can't just put those cigarettes down can we? Of course not, because we're addicted! Here are some tips to help you stop that nasty habit.

Difficulty: Challenging

Things You'll Need:

  • will power
  1. Step 1

Decide that you really do want to stop smoking. If you're not ready then you are wasting your time trying to quit because it will never happen.

  2. Step 2

Set a quit date. Decide what day you will give up those cigarettes for good and mark it on your calendar.

  3. Step 3

Use nicotine replacement. Going "cold turkey" is really hard and most people fail at attempts to quit smoking this way. Most people will fail their first try at smoking no matter what they use, but increase your chances of success with patches, gums or lozenges.

  4. Step 4

Find a hobby. Find something to replace the time you used to spend smoking. This will help when you're fighting a craving.

  5. Step 5

Stick with it. You can do this! Don't give in!
